csgo eleague major pools and tournament schedule announced

The opening schedule and pools for upcoming Counter-Strike: Global Offensive event ELeague Major have been revealed. As detailed in a video broadcast from the ELeague Major Preview Show from CES in Las Vegas and shared on Twitter, the first day will feature the following eight matches:

Gambit vs. North

Fnatic vs. G2 Esports

SK Gaming vs. HellRaisers

Virtus.pro vs. OpTic Gaming

Na’Vi vs. mousesports

Team Liquid vs. EnVyUs

Astralis vs. GODSENT

FlipSid3 vs. FaZe

Teams have been assigned across four pools. Round one has teams from each pool randomly matched with teams from other pools to play a best-of-one. The rounds to follow will match up teams with the same win-loss record, regardless of pool placement. Teams qualify for the playoffs when they have three wins, or are eliminated from the tournament when they have three losses.

Of the 16 teams, only eight will advance to the playoffs. The playoffs bracket will match the teams with the best win-loss scores against those with the worst win-loss scores at first. Games will be played as a best-of-three from there onwards.

Day one will start on January 22, at 10AM ET / 7AM PT. The quarterfinals and semifinals are scheduled for January 27-28, the grand final for January 29. All matches will start at 10AM ET / 7AM PT.

The ELeague Major will take place in Atlanta at the Fox Theatre. Tickets can be purchased from the ELeague website starting at $60 for general admission. For those who cannot make it in person, the event will be livestreamed via Twitch.
